ShareNew Contest!
Welcome to a new phase in Indaba’s contests as we expand into a brand new genre. This time around we bring you a track from metalcore rockers Underoath. Their song “Illuminator” is off the upcoming album Ø (Disambiguation). With dynamic contrast between clean and hardcore vocals, aggressive guitars, hard hitting drums, and sustained energy, this contest provides you with sounds and stems rarely seen in the remixing world. So members of Indaba, roll up your sleeves and get to work on an illuminated (and enlightened) track.
If your track is chosen, you could be a $1,000 richer, deck out your walls and your closets in Underoath gear, and will have some serious exposure on the band’s MySpace page!

(Highlights&Post game interviews) Steelers Vs. Ravens
Game highlights of the Ravens Vs. Steelers , Here are post game interviews from the Ravens (John Harbaugh, Joe Flacco, TJ Houshmandzadeh, Haloti Ngata) Ravens Post Game Interview . Now The Steelers post game interviews (Head coach Mike Tomlin) His reactions to the game that the Steelers had played today. Mike Tomlins reaction to the loss over the Ravens . My personal opinion I am very glad that the Ravens were able to go into Pittsburgh and beat the Steelers this time around without any real bs calls from the refs today. Now I'm hoping that the Ravens can do it again with Big Ben Rothesberger in this time around in Baltimore.

Bit by bit, flag by nasty flag, the Ravens unraveled in Pittsburgh in December.
They had the Steelers on the run. They had wiped out a pair of 10-point deficits. They had even taken the lead twice -- albeit briefly -- before penalties erased go-ahead touchdowns.
To say the Steelers stole the game is probably misleading. To say the Ravens gave it away is not far from the truth.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pittsburgh week comes with some hard lessons, and last year's 23-20 loss was one in self-destruction for the Ravens. But it's a lesson that could serve them well Sunday when they revisit Heinz Field and renew their rivalry with the 3-0 Steelers.
"I've been watching this game for a long time, before I even came here," Ravens tackle Michael Oher said, "so I understand the rivalry, I understand how heated it is. I'm pretty sure that brings out a lot of everything."
Last year, it brought out the worst in the Ravens. In a season split with Pittsburgh, the Ravens were guilty of 20 penalties -- for a staggering 193 yards -- and those gaffes nearly cost Baltimore a playoff spot.
The December loss was among the most galling in Ravens history.
They were flagged for 11 penalties for 113 yards. They lost a 46-yard interception return for a touchdown by Domonique Foxworth in the third quarter to a penalty on Terrell Suggs for an illegal block. Nine minutes later, a 32-yard touchdown run by Willis McGahee was negated by a holding call against Kelley Washington. Then, in a fourth-quarter meltdown, the Ravens were hit with six penalties, including two on one play.
The coup de grace was an illegal contact call against cornerback Frank Walker, wiping out a 38-yard interception return by Tom Zbikowski to the Pittsburgh 42 in the final two minutes.
Washington and Walker are gone and still unemployed. But in the wake of that loss, the Ravens had to rededicate themselves to maintaining poise in the heat of the moment, even a Pittsburgh moment.
Asked this week how the Ravens could tamp down 20 penalties without losing aggressiveness, defensive coordinator Greg Mattison suggested it will come down to mental discipline.
"The thing you do is, you play as aggressively and you play with as much passion [as always] in a huge game like that, but at the same time, all the things we worked on since camp about dumb penalties, you keep that in your mind," Mattison said.
"We've worked so much on that, I don't believe that will happen. I think we'll play with the same passion, the same way the Ravens play. But we've worked very hard on that other part."
The Ravens were called for 10 different penalties in the December game -- twice for personal fouls, twice for illegal contact and twice for penalties that were declined.
Last week, they had eight penalties for 60 yards in a victory over Cleveland, including one when Oher defended teammate Todd Heap on a dead-ball foul and slugged the Browns' Robaire Smith. (Oher drew a $5,000 fine for hitting Smith on the helmet, and Zbikowski got the same fine for throwing Browns running back Peyton Hillis down out of bounds.)
Against the Cincinnati Bengals the week before, Suggs was tagged with a dubious roughing the passer penalty that ultimately earned coach John Harbaugh a $15,000 fine for impermissibly touching an official on the chest in an effort to define the "strike zone" of a pass rusher on a quarterback.
This week, Suggs said penalties can sometimes motivate a team in an emotional game.
"Sometimes you've got to let your emotions fly," the linebacker said. "Sometimes a penalty like that can rally your team. It all depends on the situation of the game. If it's early in the game, a good personal foul might be exactly what a team needs. If your coach kind of 'chop sueys' a ref, it might be what your team needs.
"It all depends on the game. But if it's in a pivotal point in the game -- if it's third down and if you've got a clear shot at the quarterback, and if it's one of those iffy things, you probably don't take the shot just to make sure you don't put it in the hands of the ref. You've got to be really into this game. It's more mental than physical."
Harbaugh doesn't want any penalties. His answer to the penalty problem: "You play with great technique, attention to detail," he said. "We want to be 100 percent passionate about what we do. We want to be 100 percent in control in what we do. [The Steelers] bring that out in you. That's kind of what they do. It's part of their plan. So we've got to understand that."
On the rash of penalties the Ravens have drawn against Pittsburgh, Oher said, "I'm just going to go out there and play the game."
Asked whether that meant he wasn't going to hit anybody this week, he said, "That's what 'play the game' means."

It's a fine line the Ravens have to walk. If you dial back on intensity, Pitts. is going to blow past you on their own. If you bring too much intensity, the refs, who know the rivalry and import of a Ravens v. Pitts. game, are likely to read "malice" into the intensity. I worry about "intensity/poise" PFs (late/excessive hits, roughing passers & kickers, unsportsmanlike conduct), but also crowd noise penalties (delay of game, false start, 12 men, etc.), especially if we try some no huddle O, as we should. The best we can hope for is that the refs give a little leeway on borderline calls (and give it to both teams equally), they stay consistent throughout the game, and they are not influenced by the rabid crowd. I'll ask for the same come 12/5 @ M & T.

Ravens expect the Steelers to run at them »

Ravens-Steelers primer, Week 4
The starting point for Sunday’s game in Pittsburgh is turnovers. If the Ravens have a chance to deal the Steelers their first loss of the season, it almost certainly will have to come on the heels of a defensive resurgence.
Three games into the season, the Ravens don’t have an interception. Their only turnover came when a Jets running back hit his own blocker and fumbled the ball. Even with Ed Reed in the secondary, you have to wonder how much better the turnover stats would be.
The Ravens need to recover the defensive intensity they had on opening night in the Meadowlands. That was a magnificent effort. It has been missing since, however, and with that restored, they can menace Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch enough that he will put the ball up for grabs.
Of the starters in the secondary now, cornerback Chris Carr has the best hands and is more likely to get a pick. Lardarius Webb is another candidate to make a play that turns the game. And perhaps 6-foot-1 cornerback Cary Williams will get a shot in the secondary, where his size and play-making ability can make a difference.
The Steelers are winning because they are plus-6 in turnovers this season, best in the league. The Ravens are tied for last in turnover ratio with Carolina at minus-6. That has to change fast.
Finally, the Steelers are missing both Ben Roethlisberger (suspended) and Santonio Holmes, the big-play receiver who has bedeviled the Ravens over the years and moved on to the Jets last offseason. The situation is perfect for the Ravens. But unless the defense recovers its swagger this week, the Ravens will lose more ground to the Steelers.
Here are some other areas of the game to focus on:
THIRD DOWN: The Ravens have the best third-down defense in the NFL, holding opponents to a 20 percent success rate (8 for 40). The Steelers rank ninth in the league at 36.4 percent. The Ravens also have a big edge in third-down offense, too, where they are converting 45.7 percent of their opportunities (21 for 46), compared to the Steelers’ 26.3 percent (only the 49ers and Redskins are worse). Converting and capitalizing are two different things, though. Sunday the Ravens need to convert and capitalize.
SPECIAL TEAMS: If it’s Pittsburgh week, it’s about field position. Always important, it will go a long way toward determining Sunday’s winner. Steelers rookie Antonio Brown has an 89-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, and the Ravens have already given up a 60-yard kick return, so that bears watching. Pittsburgh’s Jeff Reed is 8 for 10 in field goals, missing from 55 and 40 yards. Billy Cundiff is 3 for 4, missing from 51 (off the upright). More significantly, Cundiff has reached the end zone nine times in 11 kickoffs, compared to Reed’s 6 of 17. Kicking in Heinz Field is like kicking in another dimension, however.
PASS PROTECTION: The Steelers and Ravens have the same DNA on defense. They pressure the quarterback and stop the run. The Ravens have had a lot of trouble getting LaMarr Woodley and James Harrison blocked recently in this series. They went with the unbalanced line a lot last year and still gave up nine sacks. Now that Jared Gaither is no longer in the mix, and Oniel Cousins has retreated to the bench, it’s up to Marshal Yanda to stop Woodley, and it’s up to Michael Oher to block Harrison. Having three competent tight ends will work to Baltimore’s advantage, but if the tight ends stay in, that’s fewer receivers in the passing tree.

NFL Fined Oher, Zibby

Font Size: Both offensive tackle Michael Oher and safety Tom Zbikowski received $5,000 fines from the NFL for incidents in last weekend’s 24-17 win over the Cleveland Browns, according to a league spokesman.
Oher took a swipe at the head of Browns defensive end Robaire Smith at the defense of tight end Todd Heap. Smith unnecessarily pushed Heap back after a false start blew the play dead.
“You got to have your teammate’s back,” Oher said after the game.
Zbikowski was slapped a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty for throwing Cleveland running back Peyton Hillis to the ground out of bounds. On the tail end of a 49-yard run, Zbikowski’s infraction lengthened the gain.
