Light a candle

Get a big, wide candle and light it. Work on whatever you need to get done until the candle has created a sufficient pool of liquid wax. Even if you have to fake the work, get busy.
This is just giving you a mental time limit for yourself. Or even using an hour glass will work as well. But the idea is to get busy with whatever that you are doing. Or even if it is a new project, or new work for you get started and see how far you can progress by the time limit is up. If you're using a candle like it said above then it is until the pool of liquid wax starts to form. An hour-glass of course when all the sand runs out. But the main goal to this post is to get something accomplished.

Bathroom think

Go into the nearest bathroom, sit down, and give your brain a break by forgetting about whatever it is you've been focusing on. Bathrooms are often the most personal and quiet places you can be in, for good reason.
The bathroom can be used to either give your brain a rest, or be creative however you want to take it. Sit down, and give you're a brain a break. And either focus on whatever your trying to do, or even to take a break on your problems for the moment. Whatever you decide to do the bathroom is a great place to get something done, other than  your personal business.

Take a shower

Edward de Bono once explained: "some of the best results come when people stop to think about things that no one else has stopped to think about." The shower is the perfect place to stop and think about your problem.
I think that the shower is one of them, for me there are others. For example, washing dishes, sleeping, driving (anywhere), and my favorite, and my worst place is at work. What I mean by that is that I can come up with alot of brilliant ideas at work. Mostly coming up with new songs. The only problem I have with it is, and also is the worst thing to happen to me is. That I can't write down the ideas, but before I had moved to Pennsylvania to work at my new job, I would record the beat, or the ideas musically in my head and put them in my voice recorder and then would try to remember what the idea was later when I'm ready to make it into a musical composition.
