Physical Camp Aided Texans' Run Game

The Texans finished 30th of 32 teams in rushing last season, averaging only 92.2 yards per game, and head coach Gary Kubiak felt they weren't able to finish games by "knocking somebody off the ball."

To improve, the coaching staff designed a more physical training camp that meant, in short, more hitting.

"We needed to hit a lot more than we had in the past," Kubiak said. "Our first 10 days of camp, were the most physical I’ve been around as a coach, and, hopefully, it will have something to do with our improvement."

Through two games, the Texans are the most productive team on the ground (157.5). Arian Foster has emerged from preseason obscurity to lead the league with 300 rushing yards.

The Cowboys are allowing only 63.5 rushing yards per game. Their troubles have been their own running game, tied for 28th (69.5).
