Start Over

If you threw out everything you've worked on so far, what would you do next? If you got rid of all of your ideas and inspiration and research and had to start from scratch, what would it look like?
First and foremost, I will be very pissed off if this was to ever happen. But you have to maintain your composure.
1. Search, and see if you had kept notes: If you had to start from scratch, make sure that kept notes prior to losing everything. Cause you may not have to start from complete scratch. You could start from where you were, or not as far.
2. Remember what you had done, and go from there: If you remember what you have done prior, would shed some light from what you were doing. Also, like the first point if you can remember you may not have to start competely from scratch.
3. Take a little break: Take a little break, a breather from everything. Reconsolidate everything that you had done, KEEP NOTES this time around so won't have to do the same thing again.
4. Make a gameplan or plan of attack: Now since you might, might not have taken a little break, and gotten yourself together. Reanalyze, and plan what your going to do to start over, and execute your plan. You never know it may be what you might need to break where you were stuck at. Or maybe not, see what happens. Hopefully you may not need to go through this.

Talk with yourself

Find a few minutes to sit down somewhere quiet and talk to yourself about being stuck. What is preventing you from moving forward? Are you afraid of something? How do you feel about your situation?
I can definitely relate to this one "no doubt about it." LOL!!
Ok this was a habit that I still use today. I actually got this habit from my mother. She would from time to time when I was a kid, of course when she thought she was by herself in a room. But she would actually have a conversation with herself, she wouldn't answer herself. But yet still have a full-blown conversation with herself. And after a while of this going on. I to had picked it up, and let me tell you. This actually had calmed down over situations that had made me mad, angry, sad, disappointed, and etc. And for years, I would say that "I'm my own best friend." Which I still believe today. I had friends and everything, but from time to time I couldn't get a hold of them. So what I would do is console myself for guidance and stuff like that. Yea so getting back to the creative idea here. So if this is your first time doing this. Look at it this way. Your not going crazy or anything, this is like you are talking your friends, co workers at work, or your business partners just making sure that you are making the best decisions for yourself, and so forth. So give it a go. It may seem like your going crazy but you're not. It's worth it, give it a try.

Heyku post 5

20130823-055811.jpg

This is a relaxing post before I went work. That's all.

Gather Items

Take a few minutes to gather physical objects, then experiment with ideas involving each item. What if you combined items? What if you took a piece from one item and added it to another item?

I think what anyone should with this idea is to gather any, or everything that proteins to the subject matter of what you're working on. And then mess around with the items and see whatever you can come up with. And see how that works, anything is possible combinations, single ideas, anything that your imagination can come up with try it out.

Barter for progress

Work a deal out with a friend or co-worker where they give you something if you accomplish what it is you need to do. It can be anything from buying you a cookie, to cooking you dinner.
This is a common goal that is always done at anywhere in the workplace, or even out of it.  So basically, look at what you need to be done, and realize what you might need to be done in the future. And ask the same person that you had helped before to help you out. This can be used to make a friend in or out of work.

Start at the end

Ask yourself: "what affect would it have if I was finished with this?" If the project or problem you are currently faced with were finished and you were to look back at it, what would you ideally change?
Finding yourself in a jam, and not exactly sure what to, look at it as if the project is finished and done, and see what you had accomplished and then find what had went wrong, and how they all could be changed. And then go back and fix the problem. At least if you start at the end, and look at the problems in the beginning and finding a solution to solve the problem.

Reverse brainstorm

Reverse what it is you're trying to do and list out ways you could achieve it. Then reverse your problem ideas to see if any stand out as solutions to your original problem.
Just reverse the process of how you want to achieve your idea and see if there is anything that sticks out that you didn't think of before that might have changed your idea any.

Seek questions

"Instead of focusing on trying to find a solution to your situation or problem, ask questions about it. The more you explore through questions, the more likely you are to stumble on a good idea." Oflow.
Keep asking yourself questions, about what your trying do for a project. Or a problem is. And come across a idea of your own that you can use.

Set smaller goals

"Identify what you're trying to do and then break it down into smaller goals. Write the goals down somewhere and check one off as you complete it as a way of monitoring your creative progress."
Oflow
I have a great example for this one. Every week on Thursdays I get to see what my weekly paycheck is. So when I do see it, I get to see what bills I have to pay for the week. And then break down my paycheck, and my bills. And then when I'm done I get to see what I have left over for the weekend.

Make an analogy

In his book, "The Element," Sir Ken Robinson explains: "Growth comes through analogy, through seeing how things connect rather than only seeing how they might be different."  Oflow

Through this passage of Oflow. Seeing things for there similarities, and not the difference of it. Try also looking at what your trying to do from more than one angle and see what you can come up with. This process may take awhile to get it fully, but yet most of the time its worth it.
